  1. Check the propeller regularly

It should be your pre-lunch routine to check the propellers on your boat. Inspect it thoroughly to see if there are dents or other obvious signs of damage. One thing that you should never do is to ignore a dent on your propeller because it looks small and insignificant. The fact is that a small dent can cause your boat to burn more fuel and reduce its performance.

Don’t forget to put grease on your propeller shaft so as to prevent it from freezing.
